Content Management System - Joomla
Joomla Content Management System

My name is Michael King and I designed this site and others using the Joomla Open Source Content Management system. Open SourceJoomla Logo simply means that the software was developed and is constantly being upgraded by professionals who believe that knowledge should be shared and not always capitalized on. This means that Joomla is free to use. Content Management System means just what it says. It's a system that allows anyone with moderate computer experience to manage content on their website. It was made for the masses and it's free to use but don't let the price fool you. Joomla is being used worldwide for sites ranging from small personal websites to churches, non-profit organizations, small and large businesses, newspapers, magazines and more.

"IT College Chooses Joomla For Webmaster Course
Thursday, 01 February 2007
Hi-Tech College, one of the leading IT training institutes in Israel, has selected Joomla content management software for its flagship course for webmasters of small to medium-sized sites. After reviewing many content management systems, Hi-Tech College recognized the advantages of Joomla, and launched a new curriculum for both experienced and start-up webmasters teaching them the full scope of Joomla's capabilities. Joomla course participants master the building of a new site from step one, and learn to enhance the site with numerous and varied components, modules and plug-ins. According to the college, the graduates are using Joomla for private and commercial use. The motto of the course is surprisingly, "You don't need this course; you can learn it on your own." The Joomla experts who teach the course say the software is user-friendly and sufficiently intuitive such that good users can learn it on their own. However, participants in the course seek to cut the learning time down to a minimum and also seek guidance in overcoming the RTL (right to left) difficulties that ccompany building Hebrew websites. Hi-Tech College, based in Herziliyah's Hi-Tech park, boasts more then 10,000 students per year. Most students come from the business sector in general and the hi-tech industry in particular."

Joomla LogoMy main focus is on designing sites for families, aspiring artists / musicians, churches and non-profits, and small businesses. Joomla allows me to build websites so quickly and efficiently that I can set my prices to within the budget of those who may not otherwise be able to afford a professional, full featured site. Joomla's modular nature and user freindliness make it ideal for those with little or no technical knowledge who wish to manage their own site, do so with a little practice. Part of my service is to introduce you to the basics and get you going on your way to becoming your own webmaster. For those without the time or inclination to manage their site, I can provide this service also for a modest fee. My prices start at $400.00 for a basic site which includes login feature, a photo gallery, and one of the many non-commercial extensions available for Joomla. My definition of non-commercial differs from the Joomla definition in that I mean any extension that is not intended to make money and Joomla means extensions that are not for sale. There are many extensions available that are for profit but are free to use. I reserve the right to determine which extensions I will install for free as some can get complex to install. For instance the Community Builder social networking extension is free to use and not necessarily intended to make money, however, it is too time consuming to set up to do it for free. Also included in my basic price (along with all the core features and other possibilities) is one hour of getting you familiarized with Joomla. Feel free to research Joomla on your own and maybe even trying it on your own, although some technical knowledge is helpful for the initial install and setup. A good place to start is the Joomla website at http://www.joomla.org.
